In 1998, the Pride committee, fearing commercial hijacking of the annual event, investigated the forming of a Section 21 not-for-profit company, managed by a Board of Directors, and run by the traditional organising committee.

In an ongoing process, the 1998 and 1999 committees embarked on establishing a constitution which governs the processes of the Pride committee to ensure full accountability and transparency to the community it serves. Financial controls have been put in place and records of financial activities by the Pride committee are available to the public upon request.
